With an episodic show such as You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown , character becomes vitally important. If the audience can't identify with the characters then we really have nothing. Add to that, CB, Lucy, Linus, et al, are some of the most beloved fictional characters out there, which creates a potential issue of whether your audience will approve of your re-definition of the comic strip. I worked with my actors to create familiar yet fresh representations that came at you fast and effectively within each mini-scene and/or song. Also, the rehearsal atmosphere was exploratory and improvisation-based in order to create the most fun and innovative staging and interpretations.
